Free trial period

Setapp Membership offers a free 7-day trial period to all new users, starting when you begin using Setapp. Your default subscription plan is "Mac," which gives you access to all Setapp apps on 1 Mac. You also get 90 AI credits for AI usage in your trial or 450 AI credits if you subscribe to an AI+ plan.

Notes: 

• To try the mobile apps on your iPhone or iPad, please choose a plan that includes slots for iOS devices — "iOS," "Mac + iOS," "Power User," or "AI Expert."
• Trial period is now only available for Setapp Membership. We plan to add a trial period for single apps in the future.

How to start a trial

To start your trial, follow these steps: 

1. Sign up for Setapp.
   You can find more registration information in the Sign up for Setapp article.
2. Install Setapp desktop on your Mac and sign in.

When the trial ends...

The default subscription plan, "Mac", will apply unless you've changed it during the trial. Setapp will charge you for the following billing period. 

There are other options available for you as well. Please choose between them before the trial ends and act accordingly:

• Change the plan and/or the billing period
• Cancel trial
• Invite friends to get free months

Continue using Setapp — adjust your plan

If you enjoyed Setapp and want to keep using it, please make sure you've chosen the right plan and billing period. Please read our articles to know all the offers we have:

• Subscription plans  
• AI+ subscription plans 

To change the plan or billing period on your trial, proceed with the steps:

1. Go to your Setapp account > Purchases > Setapp Membership > Subscription.
2. Click View plans.
3. Select Add AI+ to view available AI+ plans. Select Save 10% annually to view how the price per month decreases if you pay annually.
   

4. Click Get started > Continue to finish the change.

   Your new plan or billing period is applied, and your card will be charged after the trial.

Stop using Setapp (cancel trial) 

You must cancel your trial subscription if you don't wish to continue using Setapp after the trial period. It's free of charge. After the 7-day trial, Setapp and its apps will no longer be available. The mobile apps installed during the trial will lose activation on your iOS devices, and will continue to work in free mode.

Extend using Setapp for free

You can also extend the free usage of Setapp. Invite your friends to Setapp and get an extra month for each one who joins on a payment plan. Your invitation links are available in your Setapp account. For more information, visit the Setapp referral program.
