When russia started aggression towards Ukraine, Setapp was ready. We have prioritized the reliability and security of Setapp since the first day of its release, so the core security measures have always been there. We can also state that the Setapp team is safe and continues working. World-known audits and certifications prove Setapp security. Read more at Setapp Trust Center.
Let us emphasize five publicly known security aspects of Setapp.
Data and infrastructure
We use Amazon Web Services to host users' data and all our infrastructure. All physical servers are stored worldwide (USA, UK, and Ireland) and are safe. We do not store any vulnerable data in Ukraine.
Payments
We work with a reliable payment provider — Paddle.com. This is a worldwide-known reseller that provides its services to 245 countries and territories. The Paddle’s team and technical resources are located in the United Kingdom.
Encryption
We use industry-standard encryption to protect your data in transit. This is commonly referred to as transport layer security (“TLS”) or secure socket layer (“SSL”) technology. Once we receive your data, we protect it on our servers using a combination of technical, physical, and logical security safeguards.
Data security
As a product, Setapp communicates with a large number of third-party vendors. That’s why it is of high importance to understand who and how to use our data. To ensure data security throughout the network, Setapp has become an honored SOC 2 Type 1 accreditation owner.
Setapp team
Last but not least is our team. MacPaw checks the safety of each specialist. While many of us are involved in defending our land and volunteering projects, our daily work and our customers are still among the highest priorities for all Macpawians.
Setapp has always been a highly secure platform with no connection to Ukraine except for the team location. Since all Macpawians are safe now, nothing has changed in your experience with Setapp. Thanks to all our dear subscribers who stay with Ukraine and think of its people.
