UPDATE: We’ve decided to keep our current sign-in method just the way it is. The email-and-password option aligns well with our updated strategy, so there’s no need to shift resources toward something new. More importantly, many of you told us you’d prefer to keep the existing sign-in, and we’ve listened.
So, we won’t implement the Setapp account authentication changes. We always respect your privacy and protect your data with clear policies, robust measures and full transparency. Learn more in the updated Privacy Notice.
Passwords are easy to forget — and easy to hack. That’s why, starting July 16, Setapp will switch to one-time PIN codes for secure sign-in. You’ll also use them for important actions, like changing your account email or removing your account.
What will change?
On July 16, all Setapp subscribers will be signed out. To sign back in, you'll need to use a one-time code.
Note: If you sign in with your Apple or Google account, you can keep using it — nothing will change. But if you prefer, you can switch to the one-time code method.
For subscribers who use email and password
Here’s how to sign in with a one-time code:
- Click "Sign in to use apps."
- Enter your email address.
- Check your inbox for the one-time code.
- Copy the code and paste it into the next screen.
That’s it! You’re securely signed in.
