Install and activate iOS app

Tip: Please check the Before you start using the iOS apps article to ensure you're on the right track.

There are two ways to install and activate iOS apps in Setapp:

Install from Mac

  1. Open Setapp on your Mac and open the app's page you need. 

    Tip: Click All Apps > iOS Apps to view all apps available on iOS.

  2. Click Get iOS App.
    Note: If the button is absent, then the app is not available on iOS.

  3. Open the original Camera app on your iOS device and scan the QR code. Please do not use a third-party QR code reader.

  4. The app page on the App Store opens. Install the app. If you already have an app installed, update it to the latest version. Don't worry about the app's price on the App Store: you won't need to pay anything on top of your Setapp payments. 

  5. Now, you need to activate the app. Go back to Setapp on your Mac and click Next Step. Scan the second QR code to activate the app on your iOS device.

You should receive a confirmation message indicating that the app has been successfully activated.

Install from iPhone or iPad

Note: Installing apps from iOS devices is not supported for Setapp for Teams members. We'd gladly suggest you install the apps from your Mac using QR codes.

If you are an individual Setapp subscriber, you're very welcome to proceed with these steps to install an app:

1. On your iOS device, visit setapp.com, click Menu , and sign in to your Setapp account. Click My Setapp if you are signed in.

Tip: To ensure everything works as expected, please use the Safari browser.

2. In your Setapp account, choose Setapp Membership.

3. Then choose the Apps for iOS tab. Scroll down to view all available apps.

4. Choose an app you want to install and click Get > Open App Store. Install the app. 

Tip: You may need to scroll down to see the Open App Store button.

5. Go back to your Setapp account. Click Next Step. You’ll find the Activate button. Click it to activate the app.

That's it! The app is now fully functional, and there's nothing more you need to do but enjoy it.
