Single app: subscription or one-time purchase

If you firmly decided that you only need a few apps from Setapp, there's no need to subscribe to a full Setapp Membership. Instead, you can purchase individual apps separately. This option is called a single app — whether you purchase the app permanently or subscribe to it individually.

When you subscribe to or purchase a single app, you receive all future updates at no additional cost.

Prerequisites

Before purchasing a single app, make sure you have:

1. Registered Setapp account.
2. Added valid payment details to your account.

Note: If you have purchased an app through Setapp, do not delete your Setapp account, even if you no longer actively use it. You can only access your single app with your Setapp credentials, so they must remain valid.

The single app will work and receive updates only if Setapp desktop is installed.

Purchase or subscribe to a single app

Once you're ready to purchase or subscribe to a single app, follow these steps:

1. Open the page of the app you want to purchase or subscribe to.

2. Click Buy now to continue with the purchase or subscription.
    

   
    

3. Select the number of devices you want to use the app on. The price will be adjusted based on your selection.

   Notes: 

   • Each app developer determines how many Macs are included in their plans. That’s why the options under Devices in your plan may vary depending on the apps.
   • Currently, single apps are available only for macOS. To use a single app on both Mac and iOS, choose Setapp Membership.
   • Please remember that all devices in your plan must be used under the same Setapp account.

   

    

4. Choose the billing cycle:
   • Yearly subscription – Pay annually with automatic renewal. You can cancel anytime.
   • Monthly subscription – Pay monthly with automatic renewal. You can cancel anytime.
   • One-time purchase – Pay once and use the app permanently.

Note: Available billing options vary by app and are determined by the developer.

5. Click Continue. On the payment page:

• If your card is already saved, click Purchase to complete the payment.
• If you need to add a new card, enter the details and click Purchase.

Once the payment is complete, you’ll have access to the single app. Go to Setapp > My Apps to open it.
