Add members using invites
Joining a Setapp team using personal invites takes these steps:
- The team owner or a team member sends an invite from the desktop app or the online account.
- A new member accepts the invite and signs in to Setapp on a Mac.
Send an invite from the desktop app:
- Open Setapp desktop.
- Click "Invite member" next to your membership status in the top-right corner.
- Type in the colleague's email. Only one invite can be sent at a time.
Send an invite from the online account:
- Go to the "Team management" page and check the Invites counter.
The counter will let you know if there are enough invitations for the people you want to add. To purchase more invites, click + and follow the instructions on the screen. - Once you have enough invitations, click "Invite member."
- Type in the colleague's email. To send several invites at once, just press Space or Return on your keyboard after entering every email address.
- Once all emails are specified, click "Send invitations."
After sending invites, new members are added to the team list with the "Pending activation" status. Once the invite is accepted, the status becomes Active. As a little help to new teammates, you can send them a link to this article: Join a Setapp team as a member.
Your team grows bigger at the moment you send invites, not when your colleagues accept them. To know how sending invites affects your payments, see Prices & billing for teams.
Resend an invite. If your colleague can't find an email with the invitation, you can send it again:
- Go to the "Team management" page.
- Find a teammate in the list and click "Resend invitation."
Your colleague can only use the latest invite to join the team; the previous invitation gets canceled.
Remove members
Remove a member from a team:
- Go to the "Team management" page.
- Move the pointer to a member, then click Manage and choose "Remove member."
You can also revoke an invite if your colleague didn't accept an invitation. Follow these steps:
- Go to the "Team management" page.
- Move the pointer to a member, then click Manage and choose "Revoke invite."
Removing a member or revoking an invite doesn't mean canceling a place in your team — it still has the same number of members, and the subscription fee doesn't change. What you get is an extra invite, mentioned in the Invites count on your "Team management" page. We recommend sending such invites to other colleagues soon, so you don't have "idle seats" in your team.
We're canceling all unassigned invites at the beginning of your next billing period to make your team expenses more efficient. You'll only need to pay for the accepted invites — that is, for the colleagues who are actually using Setapp.
