For Big Sur, we’re as ready as we can be: major software releases, like new OS versions, always bring surprises.
As of November 20, 2020:
- 191 apps in Setapp are working smoothly on macOS 11
- 12 apps have issues, but fixes are on the way
- Unfortunately, 3 apps won’t open on Big Sur at all; we’re in touch with their developers to fix and release updates for the apps as soon as possible
If you come across an issue with an app from Setapp on Big Sur, we’d be happy if you let us know.
As for the Apple Silicon processors, our developer partners have already released some apps with the native Silicon support and we expect other vendors to do the same very soon.
For non-Silicon (Intel-based) apps, macOS provides a smooth, built-in software translator. Rosetta 2 converts the apps at the first start so that users with new Macs could work with these applications without feeling any difference.
We hope all the apps in Setapp will have native Apple Silicon support in the nearest future.
