In Setapp for Teams, fees are based on subscription plans: annual or monthly. This article discusses the nuances that affect your payments.
During the trial period, adding a member doesn’t trigger an immediate charge. Once the 30-days trial is over (or when you’re inviting the 11th member), you’ll need to add payment details, choose a subscription plan, and make the first payment.
This is how your initial fee is calculated:
[team fee] = [number of team members] * [fee/person] * [subscription term]
- [fee/person] is either $8.99/person (annual subscription) or $9.99 (monthly plan)
- [subscription term] is either 1 month, 12 months, or a custom term (for on-demand plans).
[10 members] * [$8.99] * [12 months] = $1078.80
When you invite a colleague after paying a subscription fee, charges apply instantly once you click "Send invitation & purchase." Your new teammate won’t be able to use Setapp till the payment is processed.
In this case, the fee is calculated as follows:
[new member fee] =
[remaining period till the end of your subscription term] *
[fee/person, based on your subscription plan]
Once that fee is paid, the new member becomes a part of your team and no other charges are applied till the end of your team subscription. In the next billing period, your charge will be calculated so as to cover all people in the team — including the recently added members.
An additional device comes at $7.99/month (+ taxes). This price is fixed for both owners and members and doesn’t change with the number of devices purchased, people in a team, or the subscription term (monthly or annual).
The extra device fee is always charged monthly, even for teams that use the annual subscription. Charges apply immediately after confirming a device purchase. You can start using Setapp on your next Mac right after the payment is processed, which usually takes less than a minute.
